Updates on Luke

This has been an emotional journey for me. Luke is doing really well and hopefully can come home soon. He has to eat a full 24 hours without the feeding tube and we can come home. He is a little fighter. The other night he decided that he had enough of the oxygen tubes in his nose. He pulled the tabs holding the oxygen completely off. He ended up holding his own stats, so they left it off. They told me not to get my hopes up he could end up back on it. Let's just say I got my hopes up. By that night he was back on. They told me it would be one step forward, two steps back. We are getting closer. He is eating really well and gaining weight. He is now at 4 lbs. 10 oz. Such a big boy. This little boy just melts my heart and brings tears to my eyes. The tears aren't hard to come by these days. Poor Jeff is having to deal with my emotions. Some days are better than others. I am ready for this little boy to come home. Thanks for all your prayers and love. They are what get me through.

Brooke! I cried when I read this because it brought back so many emotions for me! You can't help to get your hopes up but believe me, every little step counts towards him coming home! He will keep improving and getting stronger, I promise! I have been thinking about you and if you need anything let me know! Let Jeff know that we are around to help too!

We are so glad to hear that things are progressing well for your little man. Our family has been through the'two steps forward, one step back' with Bryson and Sam. (Jenny and Jeremy's little boys), so we know the roller coaster. But we also know the power of prayer and the strength of family. We are trying to keep updated on your little family, thank goodness for blogs. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

I love having blogs so we can stay informed. Sounds like he is still doing well, and getting stronger each day. Take care of yourself right now too, then you will be able to handle him better when he's home. Our prayers are with you and family.LOve Shari

We love you Sister Rasmussen and we already love your little Luke! We missed you at girls camp but your spirit was there. I cant thank you enough for the hard work you have put into my many camp experiences. Without your dedication, I would not have enjoyed girls camp as much. Your strength and endurance is such an inspiratin to us girls! You will be blessed for what you have given us. Keep smiling, Alex
